The Oklahoma Christian Academy Dugout Club was established in the fall 2022 to support the efforts of the OCA Baseball Programs. Build community support for the program through the current student body, past and future alumni, local churches, local businesses, and organizations.

Oklahoma Christian Academy is a highly rated, private, Christian school located in EDMOND, OK. It has 495 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 8 to 1 offering students a great educational experience.

OCA Baseball

OCA Baseball has a rich tradition and in the fall of 2022 became one of the only Oklahoma City metro schools to play fall and spring varsity baseball. Currently a Class A OSSAA affiliated school with baseball being the forefront in both fall and spring seasons. OCA plays its home games at Dobson Field on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University. The state of the art turf infield and collegiate facilities gives the OCA Baseball program advantages many other baseball programs do not have access too. The future has never been brighter for the baseball program.

Head Coach: Chance Stevens

Coaching Career

Coach Stevens joined Oklahoma Christian University baseball staff in June 2012 as the Eagles’ pitching coach after spending three seasons on the staff at Oklahoma Wesleyan after finishing his playing career at the school in Bartlesville, OK. After his first season at OC, two of his pitchers, Cale Coshow and Chris Burgess, were selected in the 2013 Major League Baseball draft, the first time in school history that two Eagles were drafted during the same year. In 2014, another OC pitcher, Dillon Endecott, earned NCAA Division II All-America honors, and in 2017, OC hurler Dalton Rentz was named as Oklahoma's NCAA Division II pitcher of the year by OklahomaSports.net. Coach Stevens was hired as the head coach at Oklahoma Christian Academy in the summer of 2022 after a decade as the pitching coach at Oklahoma Christian University under head coach Lonnie Cobble.

Playing Career

Coach Stevens played one season at North Central Texas College before transferring to OWU. In three seasons at OWU (2007-2009), he posted a 16-18 career pitching record with a 5.01 ERA and 184 strikeouts in 210 innings pitched. He was a first-team All-MCAC pick in 2007 and made the All-NCCAA Central Region first-team list during all three of his seasons at OWU. He also recorded the first no-hitter in OWU history.

Coaching Career

Coach Cobble joined Oklahoma Christian University baseball staff after his playing career at Oklahoma Christian University as a graduate assistant and assistant jv coach. Cobble then took a position at Southmoore High School in Moore, OK as an assistant coach. In the summer of 2022 Cobble was hired as the varsity assistant coach at Oklahoma Christian Academy.

Playing Career

Coach Cobble had a superb career at Edmond Santa Fe High School. Coach Cobble helped Santa Fe reach Class 6A semifinals as a senior. Then collegiately was a member of NJCAA Division II championship squad at Murray State College in 2013 who has proven to be a valuable utility player. Cobble then joined Oklahoma Christian University where he also played for his father Lonnie Cobble and was a two-year starter at second base. In 2015 at OCU he played in 56 games (56 starts), hitting .321 with 21 RBIs. Led team in walks (30) and hit-by-pitches (8), good for a .430 on-base percentage, tops among OC regulars and ninth in the Heartland Conference. Tied for second in walks in the Heartland Conference. Led team with 12 stolen bases (in 14 attempts), ranking him 10th in the Heartland Conference. Received All-Heartland Conference second-team honors. Received honorable mention on the All-NCCAA Central Region teams. Named to the Heartland Conference academic Honor Roll’s Commissioner’s List.
